The Tees Valley BME awards

Inspiring Communities, Recognising Success

The innaugural Tees Valley BME Achievement Awards was celebrated in Ocotber 2009 whereby key stakeholders took the initiative to recognise the wealth of achievement and contribution BME individuals and groups are making in the sub-region. 

The prestigious awards ceremony celebrated and recognised the wealth of achievement and talent across our BME Communities in the Tees Valley region.

The awards, delivered annually, will provide a unique opportunity to raise the awareness of BME communities in the Tees Valley and draw attention to their outstanding achievements and successes in addition to creating a platform to inspire and promote community cohesion.

This event will bring together and honour a diverse range of individuals and groups, from those organisations working at the grass roots, to well established members of the community, newly emerging stars and of course our dynamic young community members.

The awards will capture the multicultural spirit of Tees Valley and will be a fitting celebration to the many talented and committed individuals and groups in Tees Valley, many of whom have made a considerable contribution to the development of skills and provision in the region. The evening will begin with a drinks reception, followed by a sumptuous ethnic meal, key speeches by eminent dignitaries, spectacular entertainment and most importantly the awards presentations. Communities and service providers are able to exchange their views and share experiences in an exchange of minds for a common purpose, raising awareness to race equality and promoting positive outcomes for local communities.
