Who can be involved

Anyone and everyone, although as it suggests in the title “BME” achievement aims to provide the only platform in the Tees Valley which celebrates achievement for under-representation groups, however, we recognise the many who have promoted equality of opportunity and do not exclude any group or individual.

The Tees Valley BME Achievement Awards has provided a direct response to the lack of programmes, initiatives, and events for BME individuals and Organisations who promote equality of opportunity. We recognise the specific provisions of the Equality Act 2010 and will not exclude any group, we encourage involvement and nominations from all sections of the Community.

“The BME Achievement Awards represent an important platform to recognise the significant contribution our diverse black, asian and minority ethnic communities  make across Tees Valley. For over a decade we have celebrated talent and showcased the best from so many sectors,  this unique ceremony pays homage to leaders and change makers who without this annual event would go without recognition”
